ARKA EQUIPE Announces New Show Jumping and Eventing Ambassadors
This summer we were delighted to announce that we have sponsored two up and coming young riders in the disciplines of show jumping and eventing and will soon add a dressage star to complete the team.
The new Show Jumping Ambassador for Arka Equipe is 17-year-old Georgia Lovett from Solihull in the West Midlands.
Georgia has had great success at Junior level with her 148cm pony Knockmartin Gold – together they qualified for Junior Showjumper at HOYS in 2011 and 2012, were selected for the England 148cm Team at three Home Pony Internationals winning gold, silver and bronze, qualified for the John Whitaker JA class, and competed in the British Masters and JA Final at the European Viewing Trials in 2011 and 2012. Georgia is now producing her young horse Qiamo Z, purchased last year. They’ve moved swiftly up the height classes and are currently jumping double clears in Foxhunter and national 6-year-old classes. This year Georgia aims to compete on the premier circuit and qualify for SCOPE, HOYS and the Royal International, alongside studying for her A-levels.
Georgia says, “I am so excited to have been chosen by Arka Equipe to become one of their Ambassadors, having always loved the brands they sell. Now Ami (Qiamo Z) is going to be kitted out from ears to hoof in Prestige tack and Arka Equipe branding, and I look equally smart in Dainese gear so we’re ready to get out on the Young Rider circuit and prove ourselves.”
Arka Equipe’s new Eventing Ambassador is 18-year-old Melissa Joannides.
Based in West Sussex, Melissa was the leading under-21 rider and leading BE90 combination, with Anne Hawes’ Connemara stallion Kilmurray Bay Mirah, in the South East Eventers League in 2012. Last year she was the top 12th BE grassroots rider earning foundation points, and qualified 3 different horses for the Badminton Grassroots Championships in 2013 and 2014. This year she finished 8th on one of the youngest horses there, Anne’s 6-year-old mare Cullintra Jane. Melissa also rides Anne’s Foxglove II at 1* level, and they have another mare in training for her first event at the end of this season. Melissa’s second owner is Sue Bunn, for whom she rides 17hh bay gelding Brighton Rock II, currently at BE100 and aiming to qualify for Badminton Grassroots Championships and moving to Novice at the end of the season.
“The sponsorship from Arka Equipe is a fantastic opportunity for me to raise my rider profile,” commented Melissa, “and having these high quality products helps me ride to the best of my ability and maximise the performance of my horses to produce the optimum results for myself, my owners and Arka Equipe. Having a company to support me that is focused on great design and safety of the products they supply is a huge benefit and I hope they will give me the winning edge!”
We're so proud to have them on board and have been following their successes and progress, with regular updates featuring on our Facebook page. Watch this space for more news in the coming days and weeks!
